The Waiting Room was established in 1985. We are a busy little restaurant with a lovely warm atmosphere. We serve tasty, satisfying and "homely" vegetarian dishes, that are simple yet gorgeous!
We have won a number of awards in recent years including "Best Restaurant in The UK" from The Vegetarian Society, and "Best North East Veggie" in The Observer Food Awards, and then inclusion in The Observer's top 40 of all UK restaurants in 2008.
Opening times: Tuesday - Saturday 11.00am-2.30pm, and Evenings from 6.30pm. Sundays all day from 10.00am. Closed Mondays.

Directions: The Waiting Room is on Station Road, which leads to Eaglescliffe Station, off Yarm Road (The A135). Yarm Road runs from Stockton Town to Yarm High Street. If traveling on the A66 between Middlesbrough and Darlington take the Yarm Road turn off, and then travel towards Yarm, passing Preston Park on your left, Station Road is a right turn approximately 1/4 mile after Preston Park. Travelling from Yarm; Station Road is approximately 2 miles from Yarm High Street, turning left after The Sunnyside Hotel.
Transport: We are 2 minutes from Eaglescliffe Train Station, which is on the route between Darlington (15 mins) and Middlesbrough (11 mins). Grand Central Trains also stop at Eaglescliffe running between London Kings Cross and Sunderland. Buses run between Stockton and Yarm every 10 minutes in each direction. Station Cars taxi service is situated on Eaglescliffe Station.
