14.10.12 Myshkin's Ruby Warblers - That Diamond Lust tour
The New Orleans Times Picayune calls That Diamond Lust: "Bewitching ... intoxicating, a meticulously crafted soundscape that showcases the singer’s sumptuous alto to dramatic effect." Influenced as much by electronic post-rock as by her jazz/folk roots, featuring performances by some of Portland’s and New Orleans’ most eclectic players and delicate layers of Myshkin’s enigmatic voice, it is a love-spell of a record, the songs telling a textured story of love, loss and eventual lightness.
Now back on the road in support of That Diamond Lust, Myshkin is touring solo, picking up some of her favorite players for special shows in their respective hometowns. She is touring the U.S. all spring and Europe in the fall, collecting tracks for the next record as she travels.
"A poet who actually has something to say...dense, dark songs rendered beautifully"
—Dirty Linen
“Haunting melodies, intricate metaphors and subversive subplots … tales of pirate girls on high seas! Lover’s feuds under apricot trees! Rosebud bullets, ruby warblers and whalebone skirts! An unmistakable, complex underground legend.” – Bitch Magazine
