10.04.11 Sweet Baboo + Martin Heslop
Sweet Baboo
Northwalian born, now Cardiff based cult solo artist Sweet Baboo a.k.a Stephen Black, has been quietly building a reputation with his darkly comical brand of bittersweet, acoustic alt country. It has drawn admiring glances from everyone from Mark Riley and Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6) to Daniel Johnston who asked him to back him up on the Cardiff leg of his European tour.

'How Id Live My Life aka The Bumblebee Song'
Martin Heslop
'Playing as a duo in a new setup, this gig will bring together Martin’s dark stories and haunted melodies with Claude’s prowling double bass and howling clarinet. Influenced by the words and noises from Woody Guthrie to Kurt Weill, bebop to free jazz, they come from different ends of the chromatic scale to meet on this stage.'
