Raised in the countryside of the Scottish Borders, Georgia trained at music school in Edinburgh as a classical pianist from the age of 7. Music was an integral part of life with her father (Mike Heron, a founding member of 1960s group The Incredible String Band), and a love of playing together at home naturally led to the two performing publicly together. After taking her Masters degree in classical piano, Georgia and Mike then found time to perform more frequently together, both in the UK and abroad.
Collaborations have included two evenings at the Barbican Hall, London: part of the BBC series "Folk Brittania", and in 2009 an evening curated by Joe Boyd celebrating the songs of The Incredible String Band. Robyn Hitchcock then invited Mike and Georgia to take part in an event at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Alongside her solo work, she is currently collaborating with The Woven Project, an acoustic North East band she met at her first solo gig at Middlesbrough Live Music Festival 2009. Georgia continues to work both as a solo performer and with her father.
