Usually off-beat, occasionally on the one The Matchbox Cabaret presents original, leftfield events at The Waiting Room on Sunday nights.

BH Monday August 27th: All-dayer featuring Jeffrey Lewis and The Junkyard, and Jane Bomebane plus 10 or so more acts! 3pm - midnight. Tickets £15.

October14th MYSHKINS RUBY WARBLERS: On tour from New Orleans - an enigmatic voice, with an acclaimed rich and complex new album. Post electric rock as well as jazz/folk attitudes. Tickets £8

October 21st FAKE THACKRAY:  A suitable tribute to Jake Thackray to mark the 10th anniversary of his death - with contributions from Rudolph Rocker, Bob Fischer as well as Fake Thackray of Leeds! Tickets £8

October 28th MELODICA, MELODY AND ME: Fantastic Nu-Indie-Folk band from Brighton - currently shunning theadvances of all the major record labels/would be bedfellows of Mumford and Sons/Bombay Bicycle Club etc. Tickets £8

November 4th SERIOUS SAM BARRETT: Leeds' answer to Bruce Springsteen! at his most traditional ballsy folksy heart. + SERIOUS DAVID BROAD: Charismatic musico who's brilliant heart-felt crooning channels the spirit of Woodie Guthrie, Hank Williams and all the lonesome cowboys of the past bang into our lonesome modern times. Tickets £8

November 11th THE FUGITIVES: Disparate band of Musicians, Poets, Prize Fighters and Flit-Lit Authors trooping across from Vancouver - having played AWESOME gigs at The Waiting Room at the start of time for our Sunday nights. Tickets £8

November 18th BRIDGET CHRISTIE: Brings this year's 5-Star Edinburgh show to TWR. Very funny! award winner/with a surrealist bent akin to Simon Munnery/Harry Hill and (her husband) Stewart Lee (who played here in 2010). Tickets £10

Novemeber 25th JOSIE LONG: The Queen of Whimsy returns with her latest show - Romance and Adventure. Tickets £16

SUMMER MENU UPDATE We've just tweaked our summer menu, replacing baked avocado with our famous Thai Curry and Putting on a sausage of the day so that you can try a range of our lovely new recipes!
