Jeans Goes POP!

Jeans goes pop

Our Jeans Goes POP! album is possibly the most listened to of all the artists' that have appeared at The Waiting Room - and we are thrilled to welcome him back midway through the making of his next album - adding some stunning new songs to those we'll be singing off-by-heart from In Glorious Technicolour. (Our other most listened to album would be Duke Special's Adventures in Gramophone, and Jeans bears comparison with The Dook for his wonderful song craft and emotive voice...

and also because he plays piano (whilst playing the drums)...

+ Suzanne Marron!

suzie marron

Is another favourite, gorgeous song writer - who plays the piano - and we now have a real piano in The Waiting Room Cabaret Bar - so we're in for a real treat.

"Possessed of a quirky showmanship that nestles somewhere between Ben folds and David Bowie, Paul Jeans is perhaps the most unlikely of show-offs. In the guise of Jeans goes POP! the Newcastle man sounds possessed of more than the standard pair of arms - knocking out piano melodies while thwacking a bass drum and flitting between microphone and mouth organ. His odd arrangements never become novelty, however, and he delivers his songs with genuine heartiness." STOOL PIGEON

Suzanne Elizabeth Marron is another kettle of fish - and what a kettle! - what a fish! Lovely slippy - occasionally barbequed - quick, clever lyrics, sang with a beautiful, rich Middlesbrough-accented voice like you've never heard...

"Most of my songs are born as poems that I later mould to fit the shape of a song. I like to paint pictures with words and then decorate them with music.." S.E.M

Double Bill. From 7pm. £6 cover charge.
