THIS SUNDAY WE ARE VERY VERY EXCITED TO BE HOSTING
STANLEY BRINKS
(AKA Andre Herman Dune)
+
FRESCHARD
Stanley Brinks is an innately musical traveller, and the unquestioned master of European Calypso. Before becoming Stanley Brinks (after an all night Jam session in Norway, which in turn led to the recording of his album "Jamaica Inn" in a nearby lighthouse) he was very well known as Andre Herman Dune - founding member of the exquisite beat combo - Herman Dune.
Stanley Brinks started out as a soprano sax player across Europe and New York and has interacted with musical influences thoughout countless countries. Most recently he has settled in Berlin. His recording of Bronski Beat's Small Town Boy was used in Channel 4's Skins.
Here he is doing something different in Norway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd1l036FOnA
Freschad started out when Andre Herman Dune wrote her some songs in Paris - she was homeless there after moving from the farm where she had grown up in French Burgundy. Here she is singing A Stranger In My Own Home on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9W8CiW3ozg&feature=related
